Replace the monitorUpdated 2 months ago

If your monitor gets damaged, here's how to replace it:

This guide assumes your Sente is currently mounted.

What you'll need:

 Steps:

  1. Remove the joystick controller.
  2. Locate the mainboard.

3. Disconnect the monitor power cable. Pull on the plastic connector, not the wires. You may have to gently wiggle the plastic connector to help it come loose.

4. Find a sturdy table.

5. Lay a blanket or bath towel down on the table.

6. With two people, lift the Sente onto it's side on top of the cloth as shown below:

7. Disconnect the wide cable by pinching the tabs on the sides, and pulling the connector as indicated by the orange arrow below:

Do not pull on the wires.

8. Remove the cable organizer cover. Start at the top end, and squeeze the teeth under the cover to enable you to pull the cover off. If the cover won't come off, make sure you are pushing the teeth in while you remove the cover.

9. Follow the monitor power cable until you reach the end plastic connector that you disconnected in step 3. Starting at the end, carefully pull the monitor power cable out of the cable organizer.

10. Next, follow this video [click here] to replace the monitor - just keep in mind you're not installing the screen protector. Once you're done installing the new monitor, move on to step 11 below.

11. Plug in the wide monitor cable, making sure it's oriented as shown in the pictures above (red cables on top, blue cables on bottom).

12. Thread the monitor power cable through the cable organizer and back down to where the mainboard is.

13. Replace the cable organizer by pinching the teeth as you push the cover back on.

14. With two people, lift the Sente back on to the mount.

15. Plug the monitor power cable into the correct port on the Sente mainboard:

16. All done!
