Digital Marquee Doesn't Turn OnUpdated 2 months ago
If your digital marquee is not turning on, then we first must identify what might be wrong. This guide should help isolate any issues.
- First, ensure all of your wiring is correct. See the installation guide here: https://polycade.com/pages/info-digital-marquee
- In step 18 of the installation guide, you secured the brightness controller board to the drawer. Try adjusting the brightness using the buttons on the brightness board.
- Check to ensure the little red light on the digital marquee control board is ON. If it is not, then either the power connection is not plugged in correctly (see steps 13 - 16 here) or this mainboard is dead. If you have a spare power adapter brick and your digital marquee mainboard has the standard power connection in addition to the black & red cable, you can try powering it that way instead.

4. The digital marquee includes an HDMI to DP adapter so that you can plug it into the DP port on your mini PC. Check to ensure this adapter is not defective by swapping the HDMI connection with the monitor connection. In order to do this, unplug the HDMI portion from the adapter, then unplugging the HDMI connection in the mini PC, and swap these two connections. If your marquee turns on, then we know the little adapter is defective.
5. It's possible the HDMI cable itself is bad. Try swapping the HDMI cable connecting the digital marquee using an HDMI cable that is known to work.
If you've tried the above and nothing helps the marquee turn on, then it's likely your digital marquee has a defective mainboard. Reach out to [email protected].
