Credit Card Reader SetupUpdated 12 days ago
Overview
The Polycade platform operates on a pay-for-time basis. You'll decide how much the user will pay in exchange for an amount of time to "unlock" the Polycade and play any games they want during that time. The amount you charge will vary depending on your region and customer base, your goal is to choose a deal that feels like great value to the player. Examples:
- $3 for 15 minutes
- $5 for 30 minutes
For the card reader, you will setup an account with Kiosoft, and they will provide you an online portal login where you connect your bank and review reports & activity from the card reader. This process requires manual effort on Kiosoft's side, so expect it to take several days to complete.
Setup
Here's the setup process:
- Setup card reader account. Email [email protected] with subject line "CARD READER ACCOUNT".
- Wiring & installation: https://youtu.
be/a39xzFPqa_A - Determine "credit amount": When the user pays on the card reader, the card reader will send X number of credits to the Polycade, depending on how much they paid. During card reader software setup, you will determine how much money equals how many credits. Then, you'll determine how many credits equals how much time for the user to play the Polycade. So, in short, answer these questions:
- How much money equals a credit?
Example: $1 = 1 credit - How much time to play does the user get per credit?
Example: 1 credit = 5 minutes of play time
- How much money equals a credit?
- Pay-to-play mode: Currently, we need to set your machine to pay-to-play mode on our side. In the future, you will have control over this toggle. Email [email protected] and include:
- Subject: Switching to pay-to-play
- Your answers to #2 above.
- A photo of the SN number that shows on the settings screen of your Polycade(s).
Note: When in pay-to-play mode, you can add 30 seconds of time to the clock by pressing the + key on your keyboard.
