Metal Enclosures
Polycade's metal enclosures use a powder coat finish.
To clean powder coat, use a mild soap and water solution with a soft cloth (microfiber is best) or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the finish.
For tougher stains, a soft cloth dampened with white vinegar can be used. Never leave cleaning solutions (vinegar, soap, etc) on the powder coat, ensure you wipe off any remaining solution with a damp (clean water) cloth. Dry completely to prevent water spots or rust.
Screens & Monitors
To clean screens, gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth, preferably slightly dampened with distilled water or a specialized screen cleaner. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the screen. Always avoid harsh chemicals, paper towels, and excessive moisture.
Repairing Scratches
If you manage to damage the powder coated finish, you can use a touch-up technique to make the damaged area less visible.
For white or black finishes, use an automotive touch-up pen. Note our finishes are matte / satin, so avoid glossy products.
Additionally, for black finishes a sharpie works pretty well.
