How To Remap Controls In Console Games (RetroArch)Updated 2 months ago
In order to remap the controls of a game running through the RetroArch emulator (these will typically be console games), follow these steps:
- Launch the game.
- Press F1 on your keyboard to access the quick menu.
- Using the joystick, scroll down to "Controls". Press A (Green) to select.
- Note the "Port 1 Controls" at the bottom. Each number represents a controller, with Port 1 being player 1, Port 2 player 2, etc.
- Select the "Port X Controls" that you want to update.
- Update the controls by scrolling to that row, then pressing left or right on your joystick or d-pad. The values that show on the left are the controls on your controller, and the values on the right are the function it's mapped to.
- Press B (Red) when done.
- Update other controllers you'd like to change.
- You have 2 options to save your changes:
1. Save Game Remap File: The controls you changed will be set for this game only.
2. Save Core Remap File: The controls you changed will be set for ALL games in this platform (i.e. Genesis, NES, etc) - Once you've saved, you can press F1 to exit the menus.
