Steam is a third party gaming service. If you have a Steam account and have installed games on your hard drive, Polycade AGS will automatically search your machine for these games and load them into the AGS library.
If you don't already have Steam installed, click here to download Steam.
To add a new Steam game to your AGS library, follow these steps:
- Buy the game on Steam if you haven't already. This can be done on the Steam website, or in the Steam desktop app.
- Exit Polycade AGS
- Launch the Steam client by clicking the Start menu and finding the Steam icon.
- In the Steam client, find the "Library" section.
- On the left hand side of the Steam client, click the game you want, and then click install.
- Once installed, the game's "install" button will change to "Play". Launch the game. This is an important step because Steam games require a first-time-setup operation that is best done by launching the game via the Steam app directly. Once the game launches, you can close it.
- Launch Polycade AGS again. The Steam game you installed should show in the game selection menu.
Polycade AGS should also automatically download the correct image for your game (although you may have to restart Polycade AGS for the image to show up).
